Molluscum lesions

Molluscum lesions (molluscum contagiosum), sometimes called water warts, are common among young children, usually in the bends of the arms or knees, or in the genital area.

Children who have other skin disorders or sensitive skin are more often plagued than others. But molluscum can sometimes also appear in adults, often in the genitals.

Molluscum lesions look like small, flesh colored or pink bumps or warts with a small pit in the middle. They are most common in young children but do occasionally occur in adults. Molluscums rarely need treatment and usually disappear by themselves within a couple of years.

Anyone who has ever had this virus is likely to be immune for life.
