Miley Cyrus Takes It All Off for Skin Cancer
Miley Cyrus Teams Up With Marc Jacobs For His “Protect The Skin You’re In” Campaign
20 year-old singer Miley Cyrus has teamed up with famous designer Marc Jacobs for his “Protect The Skin You’re In” campaign, which raises money for the New York University Skin Cancer Institute. Cyrus is featured, buff naked, on a T-shirt Jacobs designed. Proceeds from T-shirt sales will be funneled to the Skin Cancer Institute.
Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the US and is growing at approximately 6-7% per year according to the Skin Cancer Foundation. More than 3.5 million skin cancers in over two million people are diagnosed annually in the US alone, with approximately 12,000 deaths every year. A disturbing fact is that skin cancer rates are growing in young people, which is why a campaign such as this, featuring a prominent celebrity, can make such an impact.
